MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPY INTERN
Hi! My name is Madeline Gaffney. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Couples, Marriage and Family Counseling at the College of William & Mary. I began my educational journey by getting a Bachelors in International Business at HCU, followed by a law degree at the University of Texas. I practiced corporate law for four years before pursuing my passion in the mental health field.
As a clinician, I base my practice in Person Centered therapy. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths based, and other techniques as appropriate, depending on the client. I want the therapeutic relationship to be a safe, non-judgmental space where the client can explore their most authentic self. I have special interests in burnout, depression and anxiety, low self esteem, working with couples, relationship issues, and effective communication.
