Sydney Horton

LPC

Therapist

Hello! My name is Sydney Horton. I believe that healing is an ongoing process defined by exploring our inner most thoughts and feelings. I have experience and enjoy supporting adolescents and adults who are dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma symptoms, and relationship challenges. I help my clients work through  issues that are impacting their quality of life and relationships. I value supporting people in shifting their view of themselves and the world through improving self-esteem, self-worth, and interpersonal dynamics. My approach in therapy is a depth-based approach, focused on attachment theory, with exploration of how life experiences have shaped who we are and who we are becoming.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a specialization in trauma, and an educated and trained art therapist from Eastern Virginia Medical School.  When needed or desired, I use creative and symbolic processes in sessions such as art therapy and dream analysis. I balance this approach with supporting you in building the skills needed to cope and manage unwanted thoughts and feelings through evidence-based practices and neuroscience supported techniques.

Taking this next step towards self-exploration and healing can be difficult and can bring up fears of the unknown. I will always honor your journey, meet you heart forward, and support your path to wholeness. I look forward to working with you and witnessing your growth.
