Janelle De Guzman

Clinical Mental Health Intern

Intern

Hello! My name is Janelle De Guzman. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in Biology and Classical Studies from Randolph-Macon College. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University with the goal of obtaining an LPC.

As a Filipino-American and former collegiate athlete, I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults undergoing multicultural issues, eating disorders, body image concerns, self-esteem issues, relational conflict, anxiety, depression, and burnout. I also have experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and with neurodivergent kids, teens, and adults.

I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental, trusting, and compassionate space and therapeutic relationship with each client. Each person’s story is different, and I am dedicated to showing you empathy, unconditional positive regard, and meeting you where you are while utilizing techniques that best fit your journey and pace towards healing, inner peace, and growth. Through person-centered, emotion-focused, and/or cognitive-behavioral approaches, we will collaborate to navigate through the challenges of life while also celebrating your successes. I am excited to work with you, support you, and empower you on your journey!
