Jennifer McLein

Clinical Mental Health Intern

Intern

Hi! My name is Jennifer McLein, and I am a student at Liberty University working towards a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I received my undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Psychology along with a teaching certificate in Special Education General Curriculum instruction. I am also a registered Qualified Mental Health Trainee through the Virginia Department of Health. I have an extensive background of more than 15 years in education, having worked with students from kindergarten to twelfth grade in both the public and private school setting.

My primary approach to counseling uses Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My goal is to tailor counseling to the individual's unique needs, building upon their strengths. I particularly enjoy working with children and teens with developmental, behavioral, and learning disabilities, and aspire to earn certification in play therapy. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing personal challenges like ADHD, depression, anxieties, and esteem. I'm excited for the opportunity to work with you as you become better empowered to meet personal goals!
