Hello, my name is Haylee Shown. I completed my Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Abnormal Brain and Behavior at Virginia Tech. I am currently completing my Masters of Science in Rehabilitation and Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University. After my program, I plan to obtain licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

It can be intimidating to begin counseling and I want to work with you by creating an inclusive environment where you feel comfortable. I am passionate about working with individuals and families who are dealing with life's challenges and working together to achieve your individualized therapeutic goals. My focus is supporting children, adolescents and adults as they navigate towards healing and growth.

My therapeutic approach is a mixture of person-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused interventions designed to best meet the needs of my clients. I believe it is important to build trust and rapport in order to foster a safe and open space for discovery and healing. I look forward to being part of your wellness journey.
