Hi there! I’m Hayley Bray, a Resident in Counseling working towards licensure as an LPC in Virginia. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree with a concentration in Addiction Studies and a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University.
My identity as a therapist is rooted in DBT, somatic techniques, and attachment theory. That means I honor the mind-body connection and recognize how identity is shaped by early relationships. My areas of focus include: Anxiety; Depression; Trauma; Relationship Dynamics; Identity Exploration; Life Transitions, and Emotional Dysregulation. I am particularly passionate about working with women, neurodivergent individuals, and the queer community. I believe in meeting people where they are, and my background in community outreach and addiction recovery has helped me understand individual challenges through a systemic lens—one that considers how external factors influence internal well-being. Above all, I lead with honesty, authenticity, and a dash of humor.
Therapy with me is a collaborative space built on mutual trust, curiosity, and respect. I see you as the expert of your own lived experiences. My role is to support and challenge you as you deepen your understanding of yourself and move toward meaningful change. Outside of the counseling world I love hiking, practicing yoga, and practicing martial arts. I can’t wait to meet with you and get started!
