Hi everyone! My name is Kelsi James and I am a licensed Resident in Counseling with a passion for helping individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered on their journey through life’s challenges. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Dance from George Mason University. I have also earned a Master’s of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

I have experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults navigating Depression; Anxiety; Mood Regulation; Trauma; Attachment Styles, and relational conflicts. I also have experience helping individuals work with: their body image; self-esteem/self-compassion; life challenges and transitions, and barriers to interpersonal communication.

I view counseling as a collaborative process and adapt my methods to best support each client’s personal journey. My foundation is rooted in Trauma-Informed and Person-Centered care, and I integrate approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based practices, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my practice.

My goal is to offer perspective, provide tools for growth, and be by your side through life’s ups and downs. Whether you need space to process, are adjusting to change, or are working through difficult emotions, I am here to support you every step of the way. I look forward to walking alongside you and supporting you on this journey.
