Hello! My name is Sydney Villeneuve. I believe that healing is ongoing, by exploring what feels most vulnerable. I feel called to hold space for women and men who are dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges & the lasting impacts of trauma. I support my clients through issues that are hindering them from living the life they want and from being the person they aim to be in their relationships. I value supporting people in shifting how they view themselves and the world we share through improving self-esteem, self-worth & relational dynamics.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and educated and trained art therapist from Eastern Virginia Medical School. As called, I use creative & symbolic processes in sessions such as art therapy and dream analysis. I balance this by supporting you in developing the skills needed to improve through evidence-based, neuroscience supported techniques.
My identity as a therapist is rooted in a depth-based, somatic approach with a focus on attachment theory that honors the process of how life experiences have shaped who we are and who we are becoming. I will always honor your journey, meet you heart forward, and support your path to wholeness. I look forward to working with you and witnessing your growth.

Feeling Valuable and Unworthy
When talking about self-esteem and self-worth, the terms are often used interchangeably, when in actuality they impact the way we see ourselves quite differently. So, what is the difference and how do they each feel?
Self-esteem is how you feel towards the way you outwardly deliver yourself and how you are received by others. It is perceived from more of a bird's-eye view, from first impressions to your felt successes and achievements. Our relationship with our self-esteem is experienced by how we feel about our outer, most-perceived self, or the way we introduce ourself to the world.
